Dr. Kristina Whiteside BSc DDS achieved an academic background in biology and dentistry. She graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy. After graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy, she was granted the Academy of General Dentistry Award. Dr. Kristina Whiteside always strives for academic excellence with hopes to dedicate her knowledge and time to children's dental health.
In her spare time, Dr. Kristina Whiteside likes to engage in a number of activities, including ballet dancing, figure skating, golf, yoga and painting. Through these experiences, she was given the opportunity to work with children and teach them the concept of passion that comes along with loving each aspect of these activities. She looks forward to using all her skills to help children accept the dental care they need, and is honoured to work with Dr. Mary-Anne Svoboda. Dr. Kristina Whiteside joined the team at ParkPlace Junior, General Dentists 4 Kids in 2011.
In 2002 Dr. Bowleg decided to leave her teaching career and emigrated from the Bahamas to pursue her dream of becoming a Dentist. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science from Dalhouse University where she specialized in the field of Biology. Dr. Bowleg remained in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she further pursued her passion for dentistry and was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at Dalhousie University, where she would go on to acquire her Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Immediately after obtaining her DDS, Dr. Bowleg entered professional practice as a General Dentist in the Greater Toronto Area, quickly becoming the Principle Dentist for two high-volume offices. While honing her professional practice, Dr. Bowleg has gone on to obtain her TIDE Implant Certification and completed the RONDEAU Introduction to Orthodontics. As a committed member of the professional practice, Dr. Bowleg holds active memberships with the Canadian Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Bowleg's passion for health and wellness extends beyond her working life. Recently she has taken up yoga and meditation to further her understanding of healthy living activities. Outside of her working life, Dr. Bowleg remains an avid traveller and thoroughly enjoys experiencing new countries and cultures.
Dr. Pari Ghanbarzadeh has been practicing dentistry in the GTA since graduating in 2012 from the Qualifying Program at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. She previously completed her degree in dentistry in Meli University in Iran in 1991. She had a full-time private practice for 15 years before moving to Canada in 2006.
Dr. Pari believes in treating patients as she would treat her own family. She is a strong believer in preventative dentistry. When making treatment decisions, she always strives to address her patients' concerns first. Dr. Pari firmly believes that dentistry is a commitment to lifelong education. She is friendly and has a gentle touch, which puts patients, especially kids, at ease. She is constantly expanding her knowledge through continuing education courses to improve her skills, and stay abreast of the latest innovations in the dental industry.
Dr. Pari is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and York Region Dental Society.
Dr. Pari enjoys spending time with her husband and twin sons, as well as reading, photography, and meditation.
Dr. Anthi Gjinarali was born and raised in Gjirokaster, Albania. "My mother, a laboratory technician, taught me accuracy and responsibility, and my father as a technologist taught me reflection and confidence to accomplished my goals." Dr. Gjinarali graduated from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Dentistry in 2003 and worked as a dentist for 6 years in Albania. Dr. Gjinarali came to Canada with her husband and son in 2009; she has worked as a dentist in Canada since 2016. Her pleasant personality and good nature is enjoyed by patients young and old.
When she's not working, she enjoys playing tennis and volleyball as well as cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Ziad Omar received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Anthropology from The University of Toronto where he was on the Dean's Honour list and received several awards and scholarships. Upon finishing his degree, Dr. Omar was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with High Distinction. Following his graduation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Omar completed an optional General Practice Residency at the Hospital for Sick Children where he was trained in the dental management of children and adolescents.
After working for several years as a general dentist, Dr. Omar returned to Graduate School and earned a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the University of Western Ontario. He was also awarded a Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He remains active in teaching orthodontics as an Adjunct Clinical Professor with the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Omar is a Certified Invisalign Provider. He remains up to date on the forefront of his specialty through attending regular continuing education courses and conventions. He is also an active member of many organizations including the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Dental Association, Halton-Peel Dental Association, The Canadian Dental Association, The Toronto Orthodontic Study Club, and The American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Emil Svoboda is a General Dentist who has distinguished himself by earning Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant dentistry. With over 20 years of dental implant experience, he now spends most of his time reconstructing smiles using dental implants - Implant Treatment "from Start to Finish". Dr. Emil Svoboda has lectured internationally on the subject of dental implantology and gives workshops on grafting procedures that allow more patients to benefit from dental implant treatment. He was recently honoured with the Ontario dental Association "Award of Merit" for his contributions to dentistry and with the Honoured Fellow designation from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry for his significant contributions to the field of Implant Dentistry. He is currently certified to administed "Moderate Sedation" to his patients and to use CT Scan Radiology. Dr. Mary-Anne graduated from McMaster in Hamilton with an Honours BSc. From there she attended Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and graduated with honours in 2009. She is currently a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Halton-Peel Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Mary-Anne is a general dentist who loves working with children at ParkPlace Junior, General Dentists 4 Kids and is continuing her education by taking courses in many areas of dentistry, including children's dentistry. Dr Mary-Anne Svoboda makes ParkPlace Junior a very special place for kids to start their pathway to excellent oral health and a happy smile. Dr. Mary-Anne initiated the development of ParkPlace Junior, General Dentists 4 Kids in 2010.
After graduating from dental school in May of 2004, Dr. Anit Sharma quickly became a Royal College member. He continued his education by taking the Maxicourse of Oral Implantology in 2007, and an extensive bone grafting course in Henderson Nevada. He's an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Always thirsty for knowledge and improving his skills for his patients, Dr. Sharma is trained in L-PRF Therapy and has treated patients with this modality for the last 3 years. L-PRF, or "Leukocyte-Platelet Rich Fibrin" promotes healing and bone growth from within your own body, as it uses your own blood. It's an exciting field that speeds healing and recovery time post-dental surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Sharma enjoys keeping fit by practicing and competing in Muay Thai martial arts, and spending time with his wife and two kids.
Dr. Minder Cheema graduated from the University of Toronto in 2013 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2018 from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry in London, Ontario. He received training for oral and moderate sedation from the University of Toronto in June, 2018. He has taken many continuing education courses to broaden his Dentistry knowledge.
He believes in a strong community and he has been involved in experiences such as going on an outreach Mission trip to Guatemala where he gained experience in Oral Surgery. Dr. Cheema is passionate about general dentistry and always aims to provide excellent services to patients. He has taken advanced training in nitrous sedation and medical emergencies.
Dr. Cheema enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regularly goes to the gym and yoga classes. His interests include camping, reading books, and listening to music. He is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
